Goulash

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 1 medium onion
  • 100 g lard
  • 500g beef stew cut into 2×2 cm cubes
  • 60 g fried tomato
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 2 c.c. paprika or hot paprika
  • 1 c.c. cumin
  • 50 g of red wine or beer
  • 500 g. beef broth
  • 300 g of potatoes
  • 1 c.c. fresh marjoram
  • Sour cream

Preparation:

  1. Place the peeled and diced onion in the mixing jug, mash it, speed 8, 7 seconds. Remove it from the jug.
  2. Carefully attach the blade guard.
  3. Add the butter and meat. Cook at speed 1, 120 degrees, 6 minutes.
  4. Add the onion and cook on speed 1, 120 degrees, 4 minutes.
  5. Incorporate the tomato and cook, at the same speed and temperature, 3 minutes.
  6. Add salt and black pepper, and season with paprika and cumin.
  7. Add beer or wine while cooking at speed 1, 90 degrees.
  8. After 2 minutes, add the broth. Cook at speed 1, 90 degrees, 20 minutes.
  9. Add the peeled and diced potatoes and some marjoram leaves.
  10. Add a little more water – or broth – if necessary.
  11. Continue cooking at speed 1, 90 degrees, until the meat and potatoes are tender (about 30 minutes more).
  12. Serve the stew with a little sour cream.
